Celebrities often incorporate their pets into their social media posts. Such we well know, as this topic has been fodder of my Pet-Lebrity News column for many previous posts.

I love to see celebrities feature photos of their canine, feline, or other species-companions, as such personifies the incredible nature by which our animal associates provide us social and environmental enrichment bettering our lives.

Just in time for Christmas, celebrities both near and far took to Instagram to share their prized furry companions with the world.

Kylie Jenner posted a photo on her Instagram account of her holding a short- coated, small, gray and white dog appearing to be a Dachshund, Whippet, or Italian Greyhound puppy with the statement “dreams do come true.”  Has she been wanting this variety of pooch for some time? So far, 849,000 people have liked the photo/post.

Twilight star and pet-rescue favorite, Ashley Greene, posted a photo on her Instagram account of her black and white terrrier-mix with a Christmas tree branches in the background and the entertaining title “But first….lemme take a Selfie.” Needless to say, Greene’s pooch appears to be in a selfie shot whether he took it himself of not (likely not).

Patrick Schwarzenegger shared an image of both his many canine and family members via his Instagram page with the caption “Merry Christmas!!” The humans are entertainingly garbed in matching green outfits while the dogs (two light-colored, small dogs looking like Cockapoo or other similar mix and a tan and black brindle and white mixed breed pooch) are free from having to wear any holiday outfits for the group photo.

Katherine Heigl featured her Chihuahua, husband (musician John Kelley), and two children in a photo on her Instagram account where everyone, including the dog, sported identical striped pajamas captioned by “Merry Christmas from the Kelleys!!! The matching jammies tradition continues!! We hope you all have a wonderful day filled with peace, love and joy!!”  I certainly appreciate Heigl’s efforts to showcase all family members in matching garb.  Actually, I’m all for it provided the pets are tolerant of the costumes with which we humans adorn them.

Paris Hilton highly showed off her dogs this season in her Instagram account, with my favorite holiday post being one where she’s holding three of her dogs, Tinkerbell, Prince, and Peter Pan, in front of fireplace mantle and Christmas tree with the caption: “Relaxing night at home with my loves Tinkerbell, @Prince_Hilton_The_Pom & @PeterPan_Hilton. ❤️”

Tinkerbell and Peter Pan are Chihuahuas, while Prince is a Pomeranian whose recent acquisition caused an uproar in the media due to his high price tag (reportedly $13,000).  Of course, since Hilton is so popular in social media, two of the three dogs featured in this post also have their own Instagram accounts. Hopefully, there aren’t a bunch of highly-priced dogs or cats waiting to be incorporated into the Hilton-family fold this holiday (as I’m more of a proponent of rescuing over purchasing from a breeder).

Finally, Mariah Carey got into the celebratory-posting action sharing photos of her with an animal unique from the typical dog or cat shared by other Christmas-festive celebrities:  reindeer.  Carey is notorious for her fabulous winter getaways to Aspen, CO and took to her Instagram page, to share the photo of her and two reindeer with the caption “With Vixen and Blitzen
